Jack [will] love[s] sledding [in 3 years]

Jack had a mixed response this past Sunday when he went to the hill with Quinn and I. He was one part excited, one part scared, one part cold and one part uncertain about the whole thing. It made for less than stellar phototaking & movie making. Cindy was videographer.

In other very exciting news, Jack came out of left field and started pronouncing Quinn's name correctly. Up until two days ago, he would still call him "Tin" or "Kin". "Qu" is a hard phoneme for the little guys but Jack is now a "Qu"ackbelt! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

W-w-w-winter i-s-s-s he-r-r-e

Like most of the country, it has been exceptionally cold here this week. It turned the local sledding hill into an ice sheet. Here is a video of Quinn on the smaller hill and a pic of him too. Next time, we're bringing Mommy and Jack so they can get action movies of us big boys flying down the bigger hill and taking the jump!

Extra! Extra! Read All About It!!! THIS IS A MUST READ!

I know most of you saw the photo of Cindy and Jack published in our local newspaper today. It was a large (and truly great) photo.

However, I couldn't resist taking a photo of the actual newspaper page with the pic of Cindy & Jack. You've got to read the headline of the story at the top of the page. What a great contrast with the photo of my beautiful wife and son.

Our new family member

No, it's not a dog. Nor a cat. It's Betty the Betta fish. You may not know this but Betta is Latin for "one day wonder".

Now Mommy bought the junior aquarium for Quinn as a Christmas gift. When I say aquarium, I mean the plastic tank. Daddy had to explain to her that fish require more than tap water to survive. So Daddy actually read the manual and brought Quinn to the local Petco and bought the other 4 items necessary to sustain marine life. A sincere effort was made to properly prepare Betty's new home.

Optimism is running high that Betty will be with us for a long time. However, the Highland Marine Life Funeral Home (downstairs toilet) is on standby and Quinn has been assured we will not give up if Betty's life is cut tragically short.
